Companies are in need of advanced crystals to build high performing systems like high precision lasers or low dose x-ray facilities.

The IKZ ´Zentrum für Lasermaterialien (ZLM)` and the IKZ Section Oxides & Fluorides acts as partner for academic and industrial partners to develop advanced laser crystals. In the BMBF consortium "Advanced UV for Life", the IKZ section Crystals for Electronics focuses its Aluminium Nitride competences on the development of light sources for the shorter UV wavelength range for water purification and surface disinfection.
