Visitors had the opportunity to find out more about our institute through guided tours, lectures, exhibitions and demo experiments. They were able to grow crystals virtually, marvel at laser crystals in action, admire the smallest things under the microscope or find hidden treasures in the digging box. A multi-touch table playfully demonstrated the latest applications of crystals in everyday life in our society. Visitors also had the opportunity to find out about crystal growing and social and technological challenges relating to crystalline materials in presentations. The tour of our large growing hall was the grand finale.
The idea of presenting together with the MBI proved to be a success and will be continued in the future. The IKZ plans to take part in the Long Night every two years, so that the next LNdW with IKZ participation will take place in 2026.
