Our IKZ R & D strategy is devoted to make materials science an important approach to solve today´s energy challenges.
For example, specific monocrystalline silicon material by the Czochralski method and gallium arsenide by vertical gradient freeze techniques are investigated for renewable energy by photovoltaics.
The booming field of efficient power conversion is studied by optimizing established materials like float-zone silicon and developing ´new comers` like gallium oxide & aluminium nitride.
